School One has long been known for its innovative curriculum, strong sense of community and diverse student body, but it’s also known for the arts. Creativity is central to our mission and art is integrated into many academic subjects here.
The Providence Art Club was a fitting venue to celebrate of our Head of School, Jennifer Borman. Over the past ten years, she has strengthened School One’s dynamic arts program and nurtured its strong sense of community for students, families and faculty.
Eastside Monthly features a story about School One’s unique intergenerational program, Working Stories, in which participants explore art making and storytelling to examine themes related to work.
School One student, Lola Rael, was selected for an intergenerational landscape painting class with artist Ida Schmulowitz—a RISD grad known for her practice of painting urban scenes through the changing seasons.
